Gibraltar Company Law
The Gibraltar Companies Ordinance is based on the Companies Act 1929 of the United Kingdom, amendments have been made from time to time in keeping with the development of Gibraltar as a finance centre.
Gibraltar’s financial services sector goes back to the Companies Taxation and Concessions Ordinance of 1967, which made provision for a special tax regime for international business.
The country has made great strides since those early days, and now includes a broad spectrum of professional services, ranging from private banking to captive insurance management.
